Client ringing the bell

Our products

Now available from Arts Alliance Labs, Inc. are our Consumer Recommendation Software for online retail businesses, a secure infrastructure for the growing Digital Cinema network around the globe, and BenTen, a framework for online community applications. As we see our software as the benchmark for many future ventures in the fields of collaborative filtering, digital cinema services and the online community, we will attempt to release our source code and methods for the benefit of the wider community wherever practical. See the PROJECTS page for a list of companies and organizations where our software is in operation.

BenTen

BenTen brings the community applications of the web into a single framework. It consolidates online applications such as Targeted E-mailing, Event Planning, Individual User Pages and Blogging while enabling Member Management and Content Management by individuals and large organizations. This software, often refered to as an Online Constituent Relationship Management (eCRM) application, is becoming indespensible for companies with web-based operations and grassroots or non-profit institutions as the web becomes the principal medium for membership coordination and fundraising. The initial application of BenTen as eCRM was the John Kerry for President volunteer website and its successes there have lead other campaigns, such as the Hillary Clinton for US Senate and John Corzine for New Jersey Governor campaigns, to employ it on their websites.

Consumer Recommendation Software

Our initial product is a customer profile server for film and entertainment usage. Currently in use on the online DVD rental company, LOVEFiLM.com, this product uses information filtering (also know as collaborative or suggestive filtering) technology.

We built this technology for your online retail business so that you can enable your customers to develop personal profiles of themselves on your business' website. Those profiles are based on the ratings that each customer gives the products that your business markets on the website and are used to recommend other products on the website. The technology becomes an automated word of mouth recommendation engine, as each customer receives suggestions based upon the ratings of other users of the site with similar tastes to their own, all resulting in more loyal, engaged, and profitable customers.

When you employ our technology, every one of your costumers builds a personalized retail store for themselves based on their interaction with your business' website. Each customer actualizes their own personal preferences, exercising their own personal identity within your retail environment. The consumer experience and our technology work together synergistically to allow the user the ability to shape their own individual marketplace.

Digital Cinema

Arts Alliance Labs, Inc.'s Digital Cinema technology is a framework for the secure distribution of feature films and commercial programming to be stored, transported, and projected digitally. This technology is currently in place in the Arts Alliance Digital Digital Screen Network (DSN), a national system in the United Kingdom of 240 cinema screens funded by the UK Film Council.

The components we design and build for the framework of digital cinema distribution advance the technologies available to protect cinema from piracy. These products not only make distribution and exhibition more secure for film, but also bring about a greater accessibility to distribution for more specialized and independent forms of cinema by helping to circumvent the expensive and time consuming creation of celluloid film prints and its associated overhead.

The profitability of independent cinema also increases due to the lowered cost of distribution, and the decreased risk of piracy results in a larger profit margin for the distributor. This simultaneous rise in profits and increased security will leverage independent cinema in the commercial arena as a more viable private enterprise.
