World-renowned for his romantic poetry and taste in fish, Hasty Granbery brings a much-needed touch of glamour and sophistication to Arts Alliance Labs. Abandoned as a babe near a chalet in the canton of Graubünden, Mr. Granbery spent his formative years dazzling the Swiss aristocracy with his preternatural zither-playing skills and his encyclopedic knowledge of fondue. After an indelicate affair with his skee-ball coach forced him to flee the Alps at age seventeen, Mr. Granbery entered what historians have dubbed his “aquatic phase.” Dusky, mead-soaked nights in Rangoon gave way to a short tenure in a Burmese prison. Eventually, ennui and a drunken aviatrix drew him inexorably to the Boston metropolitan area, his current base of operations. While it is impossible to exactly determine his age, carbon dating has placed his birth sometime between the dawn of Man and 1978. His interests include scuba-diving, wind-surfing and autohagiography.

An unfortunate explosion involving a Bunsen burner and 1 liter of water caused Karen to be kicked off of her original path of chemistry, and forced to begin a life in software. She has worked as a consultant for various firms, however, having had a taste of the life of a developer in a start-up prior to her foray into consulting, Karen eventually shed her ways and came to Arts Alliance Labs, Inc. Unlike many, Karen was able to survive the intense hazing that all new employees are subjected to when joining the team, and is now considered a full fledge member of this exclusive club. In life outside of work, Karen involves herself with various amateur chamber ensembles as a Violist, performing at the Lilly Pad of Inman Square among other progressive venues in Eastern Massachusetts.
Brian began his college career as a mechanical engineering student at the University of Delaware (go Fightin' Blue Hens!). However, after having been unable to assemble a suitable device consisting of masking tape, straws, and a strip from a garbage bag that would protect an egg from an untimely demise at the end of a twelve foot drop, he decided to rethink his aspirations to design space shuttles. He was quoted as saying, “Astronauts move at much faster speeds than that egg, and over much larger distances.” At this point, Brian began investigating introductory computer science courses, and was completely taken with the subject of programming. He pursued his interest in software engineering and graduated with a BS in Computer and Information Sciences. Brian has worked for various software companies in the Boston, Massachusetts area, such as Akamai Technologies, where was integral to vast set of projects ranging from content delivery to usage reporting. Brian, a software architect at AALabs, spent most of his career working with Java based technologies and adds valuable diversity to the company’s existing software design philosophy. He also brings a much needed appreciation of finely crafted beers, traditional pubs, and offbeat humor.
Anika comes to Arts Alliance Labs from the badlands of the non-profit community. She has run the gamut of causes from the arts to anti-hunger - all the while cultivating a vast knowledge of organizational structure and remedies. Her 'past time' work in theatre as a stage and production manager has shown her that there is a place in the creative world for procedurely-anal people such as herself. She graduated from George Mason University with a degree in Public Administration and is about to embark on a Masters in Business Administration.
